One of the main weaknesses of the translation industry in Iran is employment; based on the pathologies results, the graduates in translation fields are significantly unemployed and deprived from basic rights of employees such as fixed salary, insurance premium and so.
Regarding this and the fact that the guild system is responsible for improving the business environments, therefore Translator’s and Interpreters’ Association of Tehran, by virtue of the Articles of Association, is bound to create bases of a stable business by improving the technical and specialized knowledge of translators, improving professional awareness of translators, establishing an appropriate mechanism for the proper employment of translators, consulting with the relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations to take advantages of experienced and authorized translators, impeding non-professional translators from translation market, providing incentive packages to encourage translators in support of their job, organizing translators’ business through translators rating system, introducing internal and external job opportunities, providing news and information of translation projects across the country, defining new job titles and so.
