Many people are attracted by culture and literature of Iran and translation is a good medium to make an effective connection between them.
International and national awards for works translated with the purpose of supporting the works to be presented abroad are among the means used by countries to familiarize the rest of the world with their own culture.
Press conference on the occasion of World Translation Day (September 30) was taken place at Tehran.
Main objects of celebrating the national day of translators in Iran in coincidence with World Translation Day (September 30) were mentioned in the conference by Mohammadreza Arbabi, Chairman of Translators and Interpreter's Association of Tehran (TIAT). This celebration postponed until after the months of Muharram and Safar and it is planned to be held for the 4th time on November 9 in Tehran.

On 24 May 2017, the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly unanimously recognised September 30th as International Translation Day (ITD) to be celebrated every year across the entire UN network (Resolution A/RES/71/288).
The South African Translators’ Institute is holding its Third Triennial Conference this year. The conference is also the occasion for awarding our Prizes of Excellence and celebrating International Translation Day, which is marked worldwide as an official UN day on 30 September. We have an interesting range of presentations lined up.
